UKIYO-E PRINTS (SUB. JAPANESE)
Ukiyo-e translates into pictures of the floating world. Ukiyo-e was essential for the West’s perception of Japanese art in the late 19th century with corypaeus Hokusai and Hiroshige.
In the 1870’s Japonism became a trend in Europe and influenced impressionists and post-impressionists including Degas, Monet and Van Gogh.
Printed with Japanese archival ink on a matte Hahnemühle paper in our own studio in rural Copenhagen, Denmark.
